Liu Zhuoquan
23 February – 21 May
Born in Wuhan, Hubei Provence in 1964, Liu Zhuoquan’s works are held in many international collections including Uli Sigg collection, Switzerland; White Rabbit collection, Sydney; Xu Longsen collection, China; China Art Projects, China, England and Australia; Fine Arts Documentary Organisation, China; Lin Yunqiang collection, Indonesia and now Liu Zhuoquan is the first artist to exhibit with Ten Cubed under the newly announced Ten Cubed 2 a second addition to the original collection of Ten Cubed.
Zhuoquan’s exhibition at Ten Cubed will include his extraordinarily delicate and beautiful bottle paintings using the ancient technique of ‘neihua’ or ‘inside painting’ alongside his larger installation work involving street lamps painted with images of fallen sparrows. Liu Zhouquan’s work takes inspiration from contemporary cultural and political life in China. Image courtesy of the artist and Niagara Galleries.
