David Rosetzky
27 May – 6 September 2014
David Rosetzky premiers his new video work Incomplete, open, 2013/14 in this exhibition. Filmed during his recent residency in Italy and informed by the sculptural works of Sol LeWitt, Rosetzky worked with local dancers, actors and choreographers to create a music and dance performance exploring the binary themes of sameness and difference, anxiety and comfort, desire and restraint, proximity and distance. His video works and collages create scenarios in which human behaviour, contemporary culture and community come under intimate observation. Rosetzky explores the space between the real and the ideal in everyday life and he reveals our sense of self to be both porous and unstable. David Rosetzky is represented by Sutton Gallery.
